YES YES YES ...We have been shortlisted

We been 12 year in the York House, and work hard to provide not just a service but also to contribuate to the tourism industrie for Hartlepool. So been shortlisted for this award it is a win already. This is the first year for the new category of Tourism and Leisure at the awards.
We are againts my good freind and competitor Krimo who I must admit also do his fair share in that domain we both are passionate about Tourism (but ofcourse I am better) both in a differante approch I would say. Neverless we are all very proud of this nomination and cant wait for the 14th May for the result. Like Krimo say "May the best man win" but I don't need to cross myfingers behind my back..... KRIMO... C'EST DANS LA POCHE!!!!!!
We will find out on Thursday evening.

I have to admit I haven’t posted anything on my blog for a while now but then I’m not the sort of person who posts a message just for the sake of it, for one thing I’m not even sure if anyone reads my blogs, if you do, get in touch, it’ll be good to hear from you! Anyway just to let you know we have now been on Twitter for 3 months, it is of course just another thing to check but when you have a passion like me to keep in touch with your customers it really isn't a hassle, I also like to keep in tune with new technology but don't expect me to be Twittering all day long, telling you what I had for breakfast or tea, I will however post some interesting facts and provide details of our latest offers. A friend and I were standing in line at a fast-food take away, waiting to place our order. There was a big sign posted that read, "No note larger than £20 will be accepted." My New VAN

No, I have not come into money but I have decided to become more Eco friendly and swap my 4x4 to a more economic van. Yes I did say more Eco friendly and a practical all round good vehicle.
Its practical for shopping, for advertising, the maintenance is cheap, cheap insurance, and it doubles up for personal use too!!
Although it only seats 2, which means only the two of us can go away in it. Kathleen thinks that’s good thing, as she can now take twice as much luggage then before, now we have that extra storage!
The worse part is however I an no longer allowed entrance into the recycling centre, as any singed vehicle with logos or advertising is classed as an unauthorized, unless of course you pay.

So here is the question, why is the government pushing for us to recycling more yet our local authority will not allow businesses to freely do the same without some sort of cost attached? Seems like this is all about how finding a way to collect more then your rubbish from us, unfair really as I already pay refuge collection, and this is on top of my council tax bill, because I am a business.

This is probably why fly tipping is becoming increasingly more popular, is it really cheaper to clear all the fly tipping then to accepted recycling?

So if you see me in my little van parked outside the recycling centre, apologises for the traffic disturbance, I may cause.

Our Fantasy Football Game

The Game
We all know the game, we all shout at the managers, we all think we could pick a better team, right? Lets put this to the test, for fun of course – Manager your own unique football team and compete against the best!

The Objective
To win! But also to have some fun with healthy competition against fellow restaurateurs.

How does this work?
First you have to register with the restaurant (Club) you want to be part of. There is maximum number of teams per restaurant, so if one Club is full please register with someone else.
Every restaurant will run they own competitions.
How to start playing?

First go to:
http://fantasy.premierleague.com/ and resister your team, please contact me if you need help at Daniel@theyorkhotel.co.uk
Your Club (restaurant) will allocate you one code to register in their league. You will also receive one code to register in the Hartlepool Fantasy League
For example;
My team is Frenchy F.C (ok just an example) which will be registered with
Raudin’s F.C and Hartlepool Fantasy League
WHY? So we can have an overall winner – making the prize more worthy. Maybe the final prize could be receiving FREE Sunday lunch from every participating Restaurant (this would obviously have to be confirmed by all participating clubs).

What do we win?
This is up to the individual Club Owner (Restaurant)

What’s the prize at Raudin’s Restaurant?
Including having the best team name……..
Every week the highest score will receive one FREE bottle of wine on your next visit to the restaurant
The person at the top of the league, at the end of each month will receive a meal for two (from the Table D’Hote menu only)
At the end of the season, the over all winner will receive a FREE meal for two including bottle of Asti or Champagne (depending on number of entries)
All of the teams will receive a Fantasy Season Ticket giving them a 10% discount when they visit participent clubs (restaurants)

What will it cost?
NOTHING Just some of your time to participate in this fun game
Don’t forget throughout the season you will receive 10% discounts and possible further prizes!

Season tickets are only valided during the football league season
Each restaurant (Club) will have a limit of 20 Teams (customers) allocation to start with and may reopen registration under certain conditions. Those conditions will be set between Clubs (restaurants)

The purpose of these events is to provide an opportunity for friendly competition and to develop international friendships and understanding amongst the young trainees and the communities visited during the races. These events take place in waters around Europe, from the Baltic to the Mediterranean. They typically involve four host ports - a race from port one to port two, a cruise in company to port three, and a race to port four. Time in port is usually three or four days during which the focus is on activities for the young trainees and providing a festival atmosphere for the local community. Several hundred thousand visitors attend the smaller ports, and literally millions are attracted to the larger ports.

Hello & Bienvenu to my new look blog

Yes as you can see I have change blog as my old one did not give me the facility of this one and I also prefert this new look lot more easy to manage. So Et Voila. I am sorry I was enable to import some of the old entres from the previous blog, But hey C'est la vie. Oui oui I have decided to introduce bit more of french after all what do you expect from a French. I would like my blog to be more see as a fun place so if you have question about anything please email me or post them up and i will do my best to reply. To tell you the true most of my posting are sent for correction to Deborah (my daughter) and you can understand why my english musly my wrighting is not top noch. I know that other restaurant visit my site from time to time that fine by me I do the same but i would like to say to them please post something "et oui Krimo tu me ferais bien plaisir car je sais que tu visit de temp en temp tu me la dis"hahaha. we are good freind don't think because we competitor we don't talk to each other.

We did have a nice Christmas and our free Kareoke was very populaire this year. It was nice some made a effort not to sing but to dress up hahaha!!!!!
